Sam's Story

After my Aman hotel adventure in southeast Asia, I had the pleasure of enjoying a long layover in the Japan Airlines 1st class lounge in Tokyo Haneda airport. This lounge stood out for its stunning architecture.

Japan Airlines First Class Seat

Today, I had the privilege of flying first class on Japan Airlines from Tokyo (HND) to San Francisco, a flight that only cost me $50. This incredible deal came after an unforgettable trip to Southeast Asia, where I explored various Aman hotel properties. My travel philosophy revolves around cutting costs on flights to allocate more of my budget towards indulging in luxurious hotel experiences.

The cash price for this airline ticket was approximately $4,200, but we managed to pay only around $150 using miles, resulting in significant savings. To discover how I secured this ticket and located available award space on the flight, join our Lux Points Membership. This membership enables you to enjoy first-class flights at a fraction of the cost of economy. The Lux Points Membership is broken down into 2 parts: The Lux Points Academy & The Lux Points Alerts.

The Lux Points Academy is a series of 400+ onscreen video tutorials & lesson plans to help teach you everything you need to know about points & miles.

The Lux Points Alerts are international business & 1st class award flight deals, which provide you all of the dates that airlines have award seats available up to 1 year out, which we send directly to your email inbox to make points & miles easy for everyone.

Japan Airlines First Class Lounge Tokyo Haneda: Location

The Japan Airlines (JAL) 1st class lounge is located across from gate 112 in Tokyo’s Haneda (HND) airport. The lounge itself is located on the 4th and 5th floors of the airport.

Japan Airlines First Class Lounge Tokyo Haneda: Access & Entry Requirements

I had access to the JAL 1st class lounge at HND by flying 1st class on JAL from Tokyo to San Francisco. Here are some other ways you can access this lounge:

  • Flying 1st class on other Oneworld carriers
  • Each 1st class passenger can bring in 1 guest even if the guest is not flying 1st class
  • Oneworld emerald members

Japan Airlines First Class Lounge Tokyo Haneda: Seating & Layout

The JAL 1st class lounge features a remarkable lobby adorned with wooden slats and a welcoming walkway. Inside, the lounge offers spacious seating with various seating areas. While it may not match the experience of the Qatar Al Safwa lounge in Doha, I found my time here quite enjoyable.

Japan Airlines First Class Lounge Tokyo Haneda: Food & Drink

The lounge offers incredible food where you can conveniently order through the lounge app straight to your table. I particularly enjoyed the pasta, and they also have an exceptional sushi bar where you can place your order.

Japan Airlines First Class Lounge Tokyo Haneda: Restrooms

The restrooms included Japanese toilets which is a nice touch.

Japan Airlines First Class Lounge Tokyo Haneda: Special Features

The JAL 1st class lounge has some unique features, with the “Red Suite” being a personal favorite of mine due to its exquisite decoration.
