During this journey, I traveled in Etihad’s business class to AUH, then experienced “The Residence” to London, and finally, Virgin Atlantic’s “The Retreat Suite” to the USA.

Abu Dhabi: Check in + Airport Terminal
The Abu Dhabi terminal in Abu Dhabi was truly remarkable, hosting the filming of the latest Mission Impossible movie. Upon our arrival from Johannesburg, flying Etihad Business Class from JNB to AUH, we were welcomed by a personal assistant who guided us seamlessly through the transfer and into the luxurious Etihad First Class lounge.
Etihad 1st & Residence Lounge
The new first-class lounge by Etihad in AUH boasts elegant decor and atmospheric lighting, creating a sophisticated ambiance. Despite its compact size, I appreciated the privacy it offered. Those in “The Residence” were treated to individual small private rooms with personal butlers and exclusive dining experiences. Each room included a private bathroom and shower. While I prefer the “Private Room” by Singapore Airlines, the exceptional service we received during our stay in The Residence was truly outstanding.

The Etihad “The Residence” features a jaw-dropping cabin full of elegance. As you walk through, you will pass the enchanting Etihad apartments before reaching seat 1A, known as The Residence.

The Etihad “The Residence” seat is truly remarkable, featuring three distinct private rooms. From a personal sitting area, private bathroom with a shower, to a secluded bedroom with a spacious bed for two, this seat gives the feeling of flying in a private jet. With a total size exceeding 125 square feet, the experience is unparalleled.

The in-flight journey was absolutely amazing. From having a shower to sleeping in my own private bedroom, it was the most extraordinary flight I’ve ever had. This is undeniably one of the most exceptional aviation experiences worldwide.

The food and beverages on Etihad’s “The Residence” were exceptional. For breakfast, I savored the most delicious pastry of my life – an oversized lavender croissant that I couldn’t resist having multiple servings of.
Etihad "The Residence": Service
The Etihad “The Residence” service was exceptional both on board and on the ground. We were escorted from the lounge to board the plane first, ahead of everyone else. Additionally, we had a personal assistant on the aircraft catering to all our needs.
